The Grand Plan

Well it's kinda, sorta a plan...

I have spreadsheets! Those who know me are not surprised.  We are planning for a full year on the road (July 2016 - July2017). My tendency is to plan in excruciating detail, while Rog is much more a "go with the flow" kind of guy.  To find a balance we've agreed on a compromise. We mapped out the first part of the trip since we have some time sensitive destinations and made reservations whenever we intended to stop for three days or longer.  From everything I've read it's a good idea to have space booked well in advance for the East Coast and prime time in Florida.

For the second half of the trip, we're keeping it totally jello. We'll be in the Southwest and there are lots of opportunities for boondocking (free camping on public lands), so we're going to wing it.

We have tentative plans to fly our daughters out to visit us at least once during the year. They got to pick the destination. Our oldest daughter, Randi, and her fiance, Ryan, will join us in Orlando so we can hit Disney and Universal Studios together. Our younger daughter, Rian, has zero interest in theme parks but wanted to see fall color on the east coast. She'll join us in the Great Smokey Mountains.

The adventure begins July 24th 2016. Here's a map of the planned route (so far) and a list of destinations (so far).  We'll see how much reality intrudes on my tidy spreadsheets. :)

• International Revolver Competition, Florida (7 nights, 11/1-11/8)
